Goodbye, Tyra...

     If you are not currently reading my blog for the first time, it is very likely that you have, at some point, seen "The Tyra Banks Show" (If you're new: Hey =] How are ya?). It is also likely that you are aware of the fact that the show is, as of Friday, May 28, 2010, gone and never coming back.

     *Sigh*

     On December 28th of last year, Tyra announced to People magazine that her show's currents season, its fifth, would, in fact, be its last.
     Of course, there are still five years worth of episodes in syndication and Tyra's myriad of other jobs - "America's Next Top Model", "True Beauty", etc. - with which for you to quench your Tyra-thirst, but her talk show days have offically come and gone.

     No more Tyra Show Social Experiments. No more Tyra Show exclusive interviews with homeless people or women who have two vaginas.
     No more Tyra Show.

     I am sad, but mostly what I'm thinking is: who the heck is going to fill the oncoming void in daytime tv??

     As far as afternoon talk shows go, there is now...Oprah. Right? And even "The Oprah Winfrey Show" will be over in 2011! What in the world is going to happen to the realm of daytime talk shows?

     Maybe talk shows will be split only between morning and night from now on.... I would be okay with that.

     Either that, or perhaps they will offer the time slot to my girl (gurrrl), Wendy Williams =]

     I don't know, but I do know that "The Tyra Show" had a great run - five years, two Emmy's - that she will be dearly missed by her fans, and that she has some pretty (pret-ty) big shoes to fill.

     (I hear Wendy wears a size 11-12 shoe...just saying...=] )
