Adopt. Never buy.

Over four million unadopted shelter animals are euthenized every year.

If ever you're considering adding a new pet to the family, please, don't buy one from a breeder or store.

Even if you'll never consider owning a pet - tell your friends! Tell the people at work, your family - anybody! Get the message out: "Never buy a bred dog or cat."

Do what you can to stop this, to help. Please...

Where did the dollars for your dog go?
I hope the following video affects you the way it did me, and you cook up a passion for the issue. If it does, and you do, pour it into every ear you can hold. Light the fire in someone else. Pass it along.

schmaltz:

exaggerated sentimentalism.

Ex: It was schmaltzy of me to set my sights on five new blog posts a week.

...the thing is...between school, and work, and the ESG, and the little time I have for my personal life, I can't promise five quality posts per week.

It makes me sad, but it's just not realistic.

The decision really came to me last week after the post I made about the dog food commercial.

Even as I was writing it, I was thinking, "Is this really the kind of work I want to publish online for the world to see?"

It isn't, so I am done with that kind of writing. I promise.

Yes, one of the key reasons for this blog to write for and about myself, (I can't lie, haha) but a much bigger reason is to have an online body of my work that can be easily accessed by anyone.

But if I am going to be sending an Oh, Sweet Sunday link to anyone such as a potential employer, I think I have a little sprucing up to do around here first...

So from here on out, my goal of five posts per week is no more.

My new goal is to have at least three posts a week, and for me to not publish anything with which I am not happy.

It's still a tall order, but I feel like I will have a better, more expressive blog this way, so I say let's do it.

By "let's" I , of course, mean "I'll"...

Saturday Post: Why I'm sitting here crying at 8 a.m.

"Teen Mom" is a hit MTV reality show that occurred as a natural spin-off to a series called "16 and Pregnant". Both shows examine the lives of four teenage girls - Farrah, Maci, Amber and Catelynn - as they each face life after an unexpected pregnancy.

I just watched the season finale of "Teen Mom" and I'm sad not only because it's over, but also because I know the next season will be about completely different people...

I'm not crying because I'm sad, though.

I'm crying because Tyler, Catelynn's boyfriend, is the sweetest, cutest, most romantic kid his age I have ever heard of in my life.

So sweet, that he makes me burst with emotion from the eyeballs. He is such a stand-up little man.

Catelynn and Tyler's is quite a story - this blog tells the whole thing...just start at the beginning.

I'll let you see for yourself.
