Real Men Wear Skirts?

Western culture has long resisted the feminization of man, but the gender line here in America is about to become as unsure as a pre-pubescent girl.

Ready yourselves, ladies and gentlemen, for the man-skirt.






  

The man-skirt comes to us from H&M's 2010 Spring collection, although it has been seen before by the likes of Mark Jacobs.

In regards to my feelings towards the man-skirt, I'll have to choose my words carefully.

I must be clear that, not only do I consider homosexuality to be just as normal as heterosexuality, but also that I consider a gay man - or any man, for that matter - expressing himself through fashion to be a beautiful thing.

That being said, I can say that, when I think of a man in a skirt, I think of this:

  

I feel like someone absolutely has to be kidding here. Where's the punchline, you know?

Although, I actually hope I'm lucky enough to come upon a man wearing a skirt on the street. Or, better yet, while I'm at work so I can run into the back and luxuriate in a nice laughing fit.

I suppose I should try to open my mind a little. Maybe I'm being the silly one here...
