Counter-intuitive

Until this morning I had never thought to piece these words together.

I was watching "Regis and Kelly", actually "David Duchovney and Kelly", and Claire Daines used it somewhere in her breakdown of her new HBO movie.

Right away, I came to my computer to look up the proper definition. Counter to what intuition would lead one to expect: The direction we had to follow was counterintuitive—we had to go north first before we went south (Dictionary.com).

What a wonderful way to explain something that's just the opposite of what you'd think.

Right now I can hear the grandfather clock upstairs tolling ten o'clock, and my mind is reminding me in neon thought that " 'The Dr.s' began five minutes ago!" (That clock is slow...).

It would be counter-intuitive of me to not sign off now and go enjoy.

End Note:
I have been ultra-busy as of late, but I'm bent on reaching five posts a week, even if I'm posting twice in one  not-so-busy day.

It so happens that today is one of those days! And it's still only a little after ten, so I still have lots of time before the day is through. I have to work, but I will have my brain cooking, and when I come home I expect I will have something to share =]
